Volleyball Takes Two; Blanks Delaware Valley, Outlasts Widener on Saturday
CHESTER, Pa. - The Goucher College volleyball team collected a pair of victories on Saturday on the road, getting past Delaware Valley in a three-set sweep in a neutral site match, before gutting out a 3-2 win over host Widener.

CHESTER, Pa. - The Goucher College volleyball team collected a pair of victories on Saturday on the road, getting past Delaware Valley in a three-set sweep in a neutral site match, before gutting out a 3-2 win over host Widener.
With the victories, Goucher is now 12-14 on the year. The 12 victories are the most for Goucher in a season since the 2013 campaign.
Goucher 3, Widener 2 (25-17, 14-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12)
In a back-and-forth affair in the nightcap against Widener, the Gophers were able to pull out a five-set win with a three-point win in the final set of the match. The victory was Goucher's fourth of the year in five sets, as the Gophers are now 4-0 in matches that have gone the distance in 2018.
Overall in the win, sophomore Greta Coss (Bowie, Md.) was dominant on the attack, finishing with a career-high 26 kills. Coss also had 11 digs and three solo blocks in the victory, as well.
Elsewhere, first-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii) went into double figures in kills, finishing with 16 in the win, while setting up the attack all game was first-year Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.), who ended the game with 50 assists, a season-high. Meanwhile, on defense, first-year Cat Hartley (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led the way with 20 digs, while DeJaeger finished with 18 digs.
Goucher 3, Delaware Valley 0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-13)
In their first match of the day, Goucher rolled past Delaware Valley, taking each set by double digits in a three-set sweep.
Overall, Coss and Melchor led the attack with 11 kills, apiece, while DeJaeger finished with 27 assists. Coss also finished with 11 digs, while DeJaeger ended the game with 10 digs.
The Goucher College volleyball team returns to action on Wednesday, as they host their final match of the 2018 season inside the Decker SRC Arena against Wesley. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
