SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Goucher College women's volleyball team closed out its season at a Landmark Conference quadmatch hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday. The Gophers fell to the host River Hawks 3-0 in the opener, then dropped a 3-0 decision to Drew in the nightcap.
- Set scores against Susquehanna (15-13, 4-2 Landmark) were 25-12, 25-9, 25-15.
- Goucher (4-22, 0-7) was paced by Kailee Turner (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) and Rachel Chapman (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili), who had six kills apiece.
- Riley Kocell (Waxhaw, N.C./Cuthbertson) had 10 assists, while Turner added six.
- Nicole Kovach (New York, N.Y./Quest to Learn) racked up 14 digs.
- Set scores were 25-11, 25-10, 25-22.
- Goucher led 16-15 in the third set when Drew (17-12, 2-5) reeled off eight straight points to take a 23-16 lead.
- The Gophers countered with five straight points of their own to pull within 23-21.
- Lucy Hendricks (Fort Bragg, Calif./Fort Bragg) led Goucher with eight kills.
- Kovach posted 11 digs, while Turner and Kocell combined for 12 assists. Turner contributed seven digs.
- Rianne Nickerson (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) added eight digs.
- Elizabeth Bobo (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) had three total blocks.
- Kovach finished fifth in the conference in digs per set (4.82).
- Kovach's 434 digs are the most by a Gopher since Meredith Johnson had 517 in 2015.
