Gophers Return to the Court at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Goucher College women's volleyball team returned to the court for the first time in 13 days Tuesday evening as it traveled to Susquehanna University.  The River Hawks posted a 3-0 victory, with all three set wins coming by 25-17 scores.

• Goucher (3-11, 0-3 Landmark) led 6-3 early following a block by Kailee Turner and Amel Lightfoot.
• Down 8-5, Susquehanna (7-14, 3-4 Landmark) reeled off eight straight points to take a 13-8 lead.
• The Gophers cut the lead to 15-12 before the River Hawks countered with a 6-2 run to make it 21-14.

• Susquehanna jumped out to a 5-1 lead.
• The Gophers slashed the lead to 7-5 following a River Hawk attack error.
• Following a 7-2 run SU took a 14-7 before Goucher whittled the lead to four, 15-11, on a block by Turner and Lightfoot.
• The River Hawks put the set away with the next five points to make it 20-11.

• After an early 2-0 Gopher lead, Susquehanna rattled off seven straight points to make it 7-2.
• Two straight Goucher points made it 7-4, but from there the River Hawks maintained at least a four-point cushion the rest of the night.

• Turner and Imani Ward led Goucher with six kills apiece.
• Lightfoot and Turner each had two blocks, while Nicole Kovach racked up 11 digs.
• Riley Kocell added eight digs.

• Goucher returns home Friday night hosting Wilkes in a 7 pm Landmark Conference contest at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
