Greyhounds Rally Past Gophers

TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Moravian University rallied from a 2-0 deficit to post a 3-2 Landmark Conference women's volleyball victory over Goucher College at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center Saturday afternoon.  Set scores were 23-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-13, 15-6.

• Goucher (3-16, 0-5 Landmark) trailed 18-14 in the first before four straight points tied the set 18-18 on an Olivia DeBiasio kill.
• The Gophers took a 20-19 lead before Moravian (10-10, 3-4) scored three straight to take a 22-20 lead.  
• Down 23-21, Goucher scored the final four points of the set to close out the set win.

• Goucher led 10-6 following back-to-back kills by Dakota Hawkins and DeBiasio.
• Leading 17-16, the Gophers scored four straight points, including three consecutive aces by Kailee Turner, to build a 21-16 lead.
• Down 24-19, Moravian staved off two set points before an Imani Ward kill gave the Gophers a 2-0 lead.

• Down 10-6 early, Goucher scored three straight to make it 10-9 on an Amel Lightfoot service ace.
• A 6-1 Greyhound run allowed the guests to open a 16-10 lead.
• Back to back kills by Emily Solomon and Autum Marrero closed out the set for Moravian.

• Moravian led 12-10 when it scored five straight to open a 17-10 lead.
• Goucher cut the lead to six twice, the second time on an Emma Taylor kill, but the Greyhounds closed out the set on a 7-1 run.

• Moravian jumped out 4-1 before a Turner kill made it 4-2.
• The Greyhounds scored the next three before another Turner kill.
• Down 12-4, back-to-back DeBiasio kills cut Moravian's lead to 12-6 before the guests scored the final three points of the night.

• Turner led the Gophers with 22 kills and also added 13 digs and four aces.
• DeBiasio finished with 11 kills, while Lightfoot and Hawkins had six apiece.
• Lightfoot also finished with four blocks (two solo).
• Nicole Kovach racked up 25 digs, while Riley Kocell and Athena Savick had 12 apiece.
• Kovach now sits 28 digs away from 1,000 for her career.
• Madison Amaya finished with 21 assists, while Kocell recorded 20.
• Moravian hit .327 on the afternoon while the Gophers hit .194.

• Goucher hosts Catholic on Tuesday night for a 7 pm Landmark Conference contest.
