Kate Lindholm Selected as Goucher Women's Volleyball Coach
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew Wu announced Tuesday that Kate Lindholm has been named the head coach of the Gophers' women's volleyball team. The program's 12th head coach dating back to the start of Goucher's NCAA era in 1987, Lindholm will officially begin her duties in early June.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Goucher volleyball program," said Lindholm. "It is an honor to both lead and learn from these talented and motivated athletes. This is a special school, and I am privileged to have the opportunity to develop a competitive and successful program at Goucher."
"Coach Lindholm impressed from the beginning of the search process and demonstrated that she has the skillset and motivation to provide a fantastic student-athlete experience while advancing our volleyball program.," said Wu. "We're lucky to have Kate joining our team and I'm excited for our volleyball athletes to begin working with her."
Lindholm, a native of Enola, Pennsylvania, spent the last season as an assistant coach at Lackawanna College while also working in the College's admissions office, most recently as the Assistant Director of Enrollment for Specialty Populations. This past season, the Falcons won the NJCAA Region XIX championship for the first time since 2006 and posted their best won-loss record since 2018.
A graduate of Bloomsburg University, Lindholm was a graduate assistant for the Huskies' volleyball program following her playing career. During her tenure on staff, Bloomsburg qualified for the PSAC tournament for the first time in the fall of 2021. Lindholm was a member of BU's first two women's volleyball teams in 2018 and 2019 and was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and received the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
Lindholm has extensive coaching experience in the club volleyball ranks, spending time with the WiseTown Volleyball Club in Berwick, Pennsylvania, before jumping to the NorthEast United Volleyball Academy in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania last season, where she coached the U16 girls team. Lindholm is also a Gold Medal Squared camp coach (2020-present) and has been a volunteer board member for USA Deaf Volleyball since last year.
Lindholm earned her bachelor's from Bloomsburg in American Sign Language/English Interpreting and went on to earn her master's from BU in Educational Leadership: College Student Affairs.
