Gophers Place Second Among Landmark Squads

The Gophers earned a team score of 114 points, which placed them behind two Division I schools and Moravian, which took third place with 83 points. Juniata followed in fifth place with 129 points and Catholic in sixth with 141.
The team title went to American, which produced three of the top five finishers and a score of 31 points. The individual champion, Angela Ryck came from George Washington, which was runner-up in the team scoring with 42 points.
Ryck's winning time for the 6,000-meter race was 23:06.0.
Goucher's top runner was Katherine Currier, who crossed the finish line in 23:53.7, good for 10th place overall and third among Division III competitors. Five spots further back in the 15th position was teammate June Chiango, who was clocked at 24:45.9.
The next two runners from Goucher finished back-to-back in 39th and 40th place. The first of the pair to come in was Christine Cherry (27:44.0), followed by Zoe Malkin (27:53.1).
Two additional Goucher runners cracked the top 50 as Camille Jorgensen (28:11.0) placed 43rd and Ellie Ginsberg (28:52.9) was 49th.
