Gophers Place Ninth Overall at Mustang Stampede

Emily League (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) completed the 6,000-meter race in 26:24.23, good for 54th place in a field of 128 runners. Hannah Brogan (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) finished 12 spots back in the 66th position, with a time of 27:15.34.
Finishing within less than two seconds of each other, Anna Sandacz (Jessup, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School) and Soliana Goldrich (Austin, Texas/Beachwood) contributed to Goucher's team score by placing 74th and 75th, respectively. Sandacz was clocked at 27:30.62 and Goldrich at 27:32.56.
Julianna Whalen (Shilington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) was Goucher's fifth runner, finishing in 90th place (28:38.92).
The individual champion was Sophia Meehan from Johns Hopkins, who posted a time of 22:11.16.
With a score of 235 points, Goucher placed ninth in the team scoring, 16 points ahead of Hood.
The Gophers don't compete again until the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational on September 26.
