Goucher Women's Cross Country Fifth at Baltimore Metro Meet
Sept. 1 - OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Goucher College women’s cross country team raced to a fifth-place finish at the Baltimore Metro Meet, hosted by Stevenson University on Thursday evening.
Sept. 1 - OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Goucher College women's cross country team raced to a fifth-place finish at the Baltimore Metro Meet, hosted by Stevenson University on Thursday evening.
The Gophers were led by sophomore Kelly Johnson's 28th-place finish, as she crossed the finish line with a time of 17:28.1. Coming in just behind Johnson in 30th place was Soliana Goldrich, who completed the course with a time of 17:48.0.
Overall the Gophers totaled 112 points, as the top five was rounded out by Hannah Brogan in 38th place (19:35.2), Jessica Snouwaert in 46th (21:59.9) and freshman Nora Neely, who was competing in her first-collegiate race.
The overall team winner of the Metro Meet was Johns Hopkins University, who raced to the top with 15 total points. They were followed by Stevenson University, who captured second place with 62 total points in the meet.
Individually, Felicia Koerner of Johns Hopkins took home the top honor, finishing first with a time of 14:37.4.
The Gophers will be back in action on Saturday, September 10, when they head back to Stevenson to compete in the 2016 Shannon Henretty Invitational. The race is set for an 11:30 a.m. start.
