Goldrich Sets New PR at Dickinson Long/Short Invite
The Goucher College women’s cross country team finished in 20th place at the Dickinson Long/Short Invite held at Big Spring High School.
CARLISLE, Pa. – The Goucher College women's cross country team finished in 20th place at the Dickinson Long/Short Invite held at Big Spring High School.
The Gophers were led by senior Soliana Goldrich (Austin, Texas) who continues to tear through the 2017 season. Her time of 24:46.80 marks a personal best in 6k events throughout her four-year career.
Junior Hannah Brogan (Chatham, N.J.) shaved off nearly three minutes from her previous season best on a 6k course with a time of 28:45.90. First-year Aliyah Rosen (Montpelier, Vt.) completed her first career race in blue & golf with a time of 29:14.00, rounding out Goucher's scoring with a total of 235 points.
First-year Jennifer Alves (Goias, Brazil) also finished the race with a time of 30:20.40.
Goucher also placed 18th in the short (4k) race on the day. Junior Kelly Johnson (Wayne, Pa.) led this cohort of Gophers with a time of 17:29.20.
First-year Isabel Srour (Potomac, Md.) crossed the finish line second for the Gophers while sophomore Edith Hollander (Larchmont, N.Y.) completed Goucher's team. Srour finished with a 17:56.00 mark while Hollander completed the race in 20:38.10.
The Gophers run at home next week as they host multiple area teams for the 2017 Goucher College Cross Country Classic. The men's 8k race will begin at 10:30 a.m. while the women's 6k race starts at 11:15 a.m.
