For the eighth consecutive season - and for the 19th time in program history - the Goucher College women's cross country team has earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors for NCAA Division III.
For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. Overall, 221 women's programs earned the award, as Goucher registered a 3.31 team GPA for the Fall 2017 semester.
Joining Goucher in earning All-Academic Team honors from the Landmark Conference was Elizabethtown, Catholic, Moravian, and Susquehanna.
This past Fall, Goucher was led on the course and in the classroom by departing senior Soliana Goldrich (Austin, Texas), who went on to earn the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete distinction after registering a 3.74 cumulative grade point average. In competition, Goldrich served as the team captain for the Gophers, and recorded the first top 20 finish for a Goucher women's runner at the Landmark Conference Championships since 2013 in late October, finishing 16th on a challenging course at Juniata. She also captured the Goucher Cross Country Classic earlier in October, finishing in 25:32.
