Hanson Takes Goucher Cross Country Classic, Leads Women’s XC To Team Victory
TOWSON, Md. - First-year Laila Hanson (Churchville, Md.) continued her strong season for the Goucher College women’s cross country team on Saturday, as she captured the 2018 Goucher Cross Country Classic individual title.

Hanson's performance also lifted the Gophers to a team victory in the Goucher Cross Country Classic, as they finished with a total of 24 points on the day.
Overall, Hanson crossed the finish line of the Goucher College 6k course in 26:19.35 to beat her nearest competitor (Hyusun Reilly of Harford C.C.) by almost a minute. Just behind Hanson in the event was teammate sophomore Eva Bulson Lewis (Minneapolis, Minn.), who finished fifth in 30:08.43.
Elsewhere, first-year Julia Gazzola (Hagerstown, Md.) was seventh in 30:36.96, and senior Hannah Brogan (Chatham, N.J.) ended her final Goucher Cross Country Classic with a 10th place finish (31:44.24). Rounding out the finishers for the Gophers in the event was first-year Tori Enamorado (Montgomery Village, Md.) who placed 12th in 32:34.04.
The Goucher College women's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, October 27, as they take part in the 2018 Landmark Conference Championships at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon, Pa.
