BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Eva Bulson-Lewis (Minneapolis, Minn./Trinity School at River Ridge) and Joey Holtzman (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson) ended the 2019 campaign the way they competed for the majority of the season by finishing as the Goucher College cross country top finishers at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Qualifier on Saturday.
"When we started back in August - we knew we had a lot of work to do!," said head coach John Caslin. "This group worked hard and improve as much as any team I have coached - I am proud of them!"
Bulson-Lewis ran a personal-best time of 26:48.9 to finish in 248th place in the women's 6K race while Holzman posted a time of 32:34.0 to finish 314th in the men's 8K race.

Milton Wright) (290th place, 28:17.4) and Lily Reiser (Madison, Wisc./Madison West) (306th place, 29:37.3) also posted personal-best marks just like Bulson-Lewis while Isabel Srour (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) (322nd place, 31:01.1) also competed for the Gophers women's team.
Along with Holzman, Nicholas Aliquo (South Portland, Maine/Baxter Academy) had a huge personal best with a time of 33:41.6 to shed over four minutes from his time to finish 324th. He improved his time by 11 minutes in his first season on the Goucher cross country team. Ricky Rubin (Severn, Md./Old Mill) (351st place, 37:33.4) also ran for the Goucher men.
The meet was the 210th and final cross country race Caslin coached at Goucher. He announced his retirement on Wednesday after 26 years and changing the lives of over 400 student-athletes in both cross country and track and field. Congratulations to Coach Caslin on an outstanding career and the even the results of today with four runners posting personal-best times shows the impact he has had on every athlete to come through his program for the last 26 years.
