Dylan, Thornton-Fillyaw Notch Top 5s at Don Cathcart Invitational
SALISBURY, Md. - Goucher College women's cross country junior Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw recorded a third-place finish in the women's 6K, while sophomore men's cross country runner Sam Dylan notched a fourth place finish in the men's 8K, as the Gophers returned to action at the Don Cathcart Invitational at Winter Place Park on Saturday.
Thornton-Fillyaw ran the 6K course in a time of 23:21.0, trailing a pair of runners from the host Sea Gulls in Rachel Roberts and Anna Bodmer.
Terrica Thornton-Fillyaw was the next fastest female Gopher runner, placing 29th with a time of 26:37.4. Reese Finnigan ran a 28:11.9, while Imaya Edmonds checked in at 28:22.5. Daya Sathyaraj rounded out the Goucher finishers with a time of 31:37.7.
On the men's side, Dylan ran an 8K time of 27:58.2 to finish behind three Sea Gulls, including winner Peyton Dill (27:36.6). Classmate Jair Smith posted a time of 27:58.2 to finish 23rd overall.
Goucher cross country returns to action on Friday, October 11 when it hosts the Coach Caslin Classic.
