Goucher Grabs Third at ANRC Championship
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ Goucher accumulated 159.29 points to place third out of the eight riding teams which were represented at the 30th annual National Intercollegiate Riding Championship conducted by the Affiliated National Riding Commission.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Goucher accumulated 159.29 points
to place third out of the eight riding teams which were represented
at the 30th annual National Intercollegiate Riding Championship
conducted by the Affiliated National Riding Commission.
In the overall team competition, Goucher finished behind only St.
Andrews Presbyterian, which achieved a point total of 161.30, and
Centenary (160.73). Savannah Art & Design, which was pursuing
its third straight ANRC national title, followed in fourth place
with 158.57, and Sweet Briar (156.42) was fifth.
In addition to the team competition, individual riders contended
in three phases: a dressage sportif, which is a program ride
comprised of hunter seat equitation movements provided by the ANRC,
a hunter trials equitation course over rolling terrain over cross
country-type jumps, and a hunter seat equitation course in a
ring.
Jonathan Cohen (Chicago, IL/Latin School of
Chicago) produced the highest score among Goucher's
individual riders. His aggregate score of 82.63 points allowed him
to finish in second place behind Eleanor Kunsman from Centenary
(84.52).
Also competing for Goucher were Allison Wherley (Glen
Rock, PA/Susquehannock), who placed 10th overall with
75.16 points, Julie Fink (Baltimore, MD/Garrison Forest
School), Cady Klimas (Miami, FL/Palmer
Trinity), Brittany Martin (Ocean City,
MD/Worcester Prep) and Boo Geisse (Chagrin Falls,
OH/Chagrin Falls).
