This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Goucher College equestrian program.
For a century, the Goucher Equestrian Program has been an integral part of the college, allowing riders of all levels to enjoy recreational, educational, and competitive opportunities. What began as part of the Physical Education Department in 1923 has evolved greatly into today’s Equestrian Program. With a nationally renowned varsity riding team, horseback riding courses, an equine studies minor, and on-campus facilities and horses, Goucher has embraced its equestrian heritage. Countless graduates have been influenced by their equestrian experience, and the history of riding at Goucher is unique. Check out the historical timeline and image folder to learn more about the people, places, and events that helped shape the Goucher Equestrian Program over a century of excellence.
