Goucher Places 14th in IHSA Collegiate Cup
WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA Goucher's riding program, in its first appearance at the IHSA National Championship Horse Show, finished in 14th place today and ahead of three other teams in the Collegiate Cup.

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA — Goucher's riding program, in
its first appearance at the IHSA National Championship Horse Show,
finished in 14th place today and ahead of three other teams in the
Collegiate Cup.
Eight riders represented Goucher in the Collegiate Cup, and two of
them — Sarah Pandolfini (New York,
NY/Buxton) and Jonathan Cohen (Chicago, IL/Latin
School of Chicago) — placed high enough in their
division to earn points. Pandolfini was awarded two points for
placing fifth in novice equitation on the flat; Cohen secured one
point for his sixth-place performance in open equitation on the
flat.
The team title went to Virginia Intermont, which finished with a
score of 37 points. Findlay and Mt. Holyoke shared second place
with 25 points apiece.
With three points, Goucher managed to finish ahead of Penn St.,
Charleston and West Texas.
The other six riders who competed for Goucher in the Collegiate
Cup were Sarah Ashby (Havre de Grace, MD/Havre de
Grace) in walk-trot-canter; Emily Berkowitz (Bryn
Mawr, PA/Harriton) in novice fences; Julie Fink
(Baltimore, MD/Garrison Forest School) in intermediate
flat; Boo Geisse (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls)
in intermediate fences; Brittany Martin (Ocean City,
MD/Worcester Prep) in open fences; and Nina Sysko
(Lewiston, ME/Lewiston) in walk-trot.
Goucher also had two riders competing for individual honors at the
show: Fink in open fences and Meredith Hurd (Sykesville,
MD/Glenelg) in advanced walk-trot-canter.
