HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - Goucher's Kelly Usher (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) earned a blue ribbon for her first-place performance in novice equitation over fences this weekend at the 16th annual Holiday Tournament of Champions.
Goucher's Sarah Pandolfini (New York, NY/Buckston) was awarded second place in intermediate equitation on the flat, Justine Wilson (Westminster, MD/Westminster) fourth place in novice flat and Julie Fink (Baltimore, MD/Garrison Forest School) eighth in open flat.
Brittany Martin (Ocean City, NJ/Worcester Prep) distinguished herself in the medal class, which drew a total of 40 competitors. The class begins with a flat phase and approximately 16 are called back to jump. Martin was among the riders brought back to jump and finished in 11th place overall.
The judge for the two-day event was Scott Hoffstetter.
The team title in the second of three Tournament of Champions events that will take place in 2007-08 went to Mt. Holyoke, which achieved a score of 35 points. Centenary finished as runner-up with 25 points. Goucher collected 15 points, good for 12th place.
