Goucher Strengthens Hold on First Place in Region IV-I
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Goucher emerged today from the first of back-to-back riding shows at Hazelwild Farm as the high point college and was able to add to what started as a precarious four-point lead over Mary Washington in the IHSA Zone IV Region I standings.
Jabin Makes Solid Showing in Novice Division: First in Flat, Third in Jumps
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Goucher emerged today from the first
of back-to-back riding shows at Hazelwild Farm as the high point
college and was able to add to what started as a precarious
four-point lead over Mary Washington in the IHSA Zone IV Region I
standings.
Including the 38 points earned today, Goucher's total for the season stands at 181. Mary Washington secured 35 points as the reserve champion for a season total of 174.
Freshman Addie Jabin (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) distinguished herself in the novice division, placing first in the flat phase and third in the jumps.
Amory Brandt (Saratoga, Calif./Lynbrook) was awarded third place in open equitation on the flat. In the intermediate division, Chaz Kellogg (Pennington, N.J./Wellesley) placed second in the jumping phase and Taylor Marcus (Unionville, Pa./Unionville) was third in the flat phase.
Effie Bourgin (Savage, Md./Atholton) and Amanda Sobus (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco & Center for the Arts) placed first and third, respectively, in advanced walk-trot-canter equitation; India Kushner (Manhasset, N.Y./The Waldorf School of Garden City) placed first in walk-trot.
