Four Points Separate Goucher, Mary Washington
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Only one riding program gained any ground at all on Goucher in the 2009-10 standings at today's IHSA Zone IV Region I show, which was conducted at Carlton Farms and hosted by William & Mary.
First-Place Performances for Jabin, Parks in Novice Division
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Only one riding program gained any
ground at all on Goucher in the 2009-10 standings at today's IHSA
Zone IV Region I show, which was conducted at Carlton Farms and
hosted by William & Mary.
Goucher, which began the day in first place in the Region IV-I
standings, earned 31 points today, as did Mary Washington and
George Washington. The high point team was Christopher Newport with
32 points.
The new standings, which reflect today's results, still have
Goucher in first, now with 143 points. Mary Washington remains four
points back in second place and Christopher Newport is third with
110 points.
A pair of Goucher riders distinguished themselves in the novice
equitation division: Addie Jabin (Annapolis, Md./Severn
School) placed first in the jumps and Laura Parks
(Apex, N.C./Raleigh Charter) placed first in the flat
phase. Jabin also took runner-up honors in novice flat.
Taylor Marcus (Unionville, Pa./Unionville) was
awarded first place and Courtney Levine (Miami, Fla./Miami
Palmetto) was runner-up in intermediate equitation on the
flat.
In the open division, Amory Brandt (Saratoga,
Calif./Lynbrook) and Karli Postel (Newbury Park,
Calif./Oaks Christian School) both placed second in one
class and third in another. For Brandt, the red ribbon was in the
jumping phase and the yellow for flat; just the opposite for
Postel, second in jumps and third in flat.
Effie Bourgin (Savage, Md./Atholton) placed third
in advanced walk-trot-canter.
