Jadin Advances One Division, Repeats as High Point Rider
TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's Addie Jabin (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) moved up from the novice to the intermediate division, but still earned the distinction of being high point rider today for the second time in as many IHSA Zone IV Region I shows of the 2010-11 season.
Mary Washington's Lead Over Goucher Down to Two Points
TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's Addie Jabin (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) moved up from the novice to the intermediate division, but still earned the distinction of being high point rider today for the second time in as many IHSA Zone IV Region I shows of the 2010-11 season.
Jabin was awarded first place in intermediate equitation on the flat and over fences at today's show, which was hosted by Maryland-Baltimore County but conducted on the Goucher campus.
Amory Brandt (Saratoga, Calif./Lynbrook), who represented Goucher in the open division, turned in a first-place performance in the flat phase and took third place in the jumping phase. Laura Parks (Apex, N.C./Raleigh Charter) placed third in novice flat.
Amanda Sobus (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco & Center for the Arts) took first place in advanced walk-trot-canter equitation and Jillian Levine (Gaithersurg, Md./Seneca Valley) took first place in beginning walk-trot-canter. Abigail Thomas (New York City, N.Y./Rudolf Steiner) placed first in walk-trot.
Goucher remains in second place in the Zone IV-I standings, but the cap between director Patte Zumbrun's riders and Mary Washington narrowed today: Goucher earned 40 points, bringing its total to 78 for the season; Mary Washington came up with 38 points today and saw its lead reduced to two points.
