Goucher places 9th amongst National Contenders
The Gophers traveled this weekend to Ohio University to compete in the second leg of the Tournament of Champions series.
ATHENS, OH. - The Gophers traveled this weekend to Ohio University to compete in the second leg of the Tournament of Champions series. The team was led by senior Alison Radgowski (Northport, NY) who placed 1st in Intermediate Fences. Other standout performances came from junior Cary Hundley (Ellicott City, MD) who placed 2nd in Open fences, and 3rd in Open Flat; and freshman Rena DiPaula (Westminster, MD) who placed2nd in Novice Fences.) Senior Sarah Lummis (Westminster, MD) also placed 4th in the Tournament of Champions Low Medal. Additional team points came from freshman John Porter (Somers, CT) who placed 5th in Open Fences and 6th in Open Flat, junior Clea Lerner (Los Angeles, CA) who placed 5th in Novice Flat, and sophomore Wren Wakeman (Addison, ME) who placed 5th in Walk Trot Canter. Lummis rounded out the scoring for Goucher by placing 5th in Intermediate Flat. Porter and Radgowski were 8th and 9th respectively overall in the Tournament of Champions High Medal.
The team will take a short break before traveling to Bridgewater College and Emory & Henry College after the first of the year for the final two Tournaments.
