Equestrian Posts High Finishes at ANRC National Intercollegiate Equitation Championships
FAIRFAX, Va. - The Goucher College equestrian team took part in the American National Riding Commission) National Intercollegiate Equitation Championships over the weekend at the Frying Pan Farm, and the Gophers once again put together a string of high finishes.

Overall, Goucher's novice team placed third overall in the event, finishing just behind the University of Virginia and defending National Champion SCAD-Savannah in the standings.
On the individual end, senior Cary Hundley (Ellicott City, Md.) continued to lead the Gophers at a show, finishing in first place in written test and sixth place in both Program Ride and Derby Phase. For her efforts, Hundley finished seventh overall in the National Division of the show.
Elsewhere, sophomore Courtney Sloan (Annadale, Va.) was seventh overall in the Novice Division, placing seventh in two events (program ride and derby phase) and ninth in another (medal phase). Fellow sophomore Annika Field (Clinton, Wash.) was eighth overall in the novice division, registering top ten finishes in three events - Medal Phase (seventh), Program Ride (ninth) and Written Test (ninth).
Rounding out the top performances on the weekend for Goucher was senior Clea Lerner (Los Angeles, Calif.), who was 10th overall in the Novice Division after placing seventh in Medal Phase, and ninth in both Program Ride and Written Test.
The Gophers, who finished third at last weeks IHSA Zone IV Championships, have now finished up the team portion of their schedule. Hundley will head to the IHSA National Championships in early May to take part in the premier Cacchione Class.
