Equestrian Leads Region By 35 Points After Second Day of IHSA Show
ALDIE, Va. - After the second day of the George Mason/George Washington IHSA Show, Goucher has once again obtained High Point honors.
ALDIE, Va. - After the second day of the George Mason/George Washington IHSA Show, Goucher has once again obtained High Point honors out of 12 schools.
Six different riders obtained first place wins in their respective events. Junior Courtney Sloan took first in Intermediate Flat and second in Open Fences. Freshman Emily Axel was first in Intermediate Fences. Senior Wren Wakeman and sophomore Rachel Stockslager both took first in Novice Flat and Freshman Nadia Langer took second. Wakeman also finished sixth in Novice Fences. Sophomore Adeline Callihan and Senior Havah Berg also had a second successful day with first place wins in Advanced Walk Trot Canter and Walk Trot, respectively. Emily Shuwall rounded out the competition with a fifth-place finish in Open Flat.
Goucher now leads the Zone IV Region I teams with a 35 point lead. The other five teams in the top 6 spots are University of Maryland (131), Georgetown (124), Towson (115), George Washington (110), and Johns Hopkins (91).
Goucher's Equestrian team with be back in action on November 10-11 at the University of Maryland IHSA Show and the American University IHSA Show @ The Other Left Farm in Gaithersburg, Md.
