Shoop And Mason Post Second-Place Finishes At ANRC Spring College Tournanment

BALTIMORE, Md. – Makaylin Shoop (Davidsonville, Md./South River) and Lexi Mason (Lothian, Md./Southern) both registered second-place standings to lead the Goucher College equestrian team to a third-place finish at the ANRC Spring College Tournament. The event was part of the ANRC Take It Forward College Team Tournament, a virtual team competition.

Shoop placed second in the open/intermediate flat and fourth in the open/intermediate fences. Mason was second in the novice flat.

Halle Taylor (Dakar, Senegal/International School of Dakar) placed fifth in the limit flat.

Savannah College Art and Design had three teams finish the Top-4 with the Black Team winning the event with 26 points and the Yellow Team in second with 22 points. Goucher finished ahead of the Bees Team by one point with 15 points. Centenary University had the next three teams in the competition and finished 5 through 7, while Savannah College Art and Design had its fourth team finish eighth. There were 14 teams that competed in the tournament. 

Goucher also took place in the ANRC Take It Forward Team Tournament in the fall and finished as the top two teams in the event. 

Goucher returns to action at the Tournament of Champions hosted by Savannah Art and Design on Saturday.
