Equestrian Makes It Four Straight in 2023-24
BURTONSVILLE, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team remained perfect in IHSA competition on Sunday, taking High Point honors at the second American University show of the season. Goucher finished with 43 points, followed by George Mason with 33 points in second and the University of Maryland in third with 30 points. A total of 11 teams competed.
Goucher has taken first place in the last 11 IHSA Zone IV, Region I shows dating back to last season.
Senior Cordelia Edwards took first in Intermediate Fences and qualified for IHSA regional championships in the process.
Kellen Sullivan placed third in Open Fences and fourth in Open Flat. Jacob Connell finished first in Intermediate Flat, while Jocelyn Harris was first in Limit Fences.
Maggie Kinsley and Sues Hardee were each first in Limit Flat, while Quinn Kirkpatrick and Chloe Perkins were first in Pre-Novice. Lily L'Oiseau was first in Intro.
Zoe Wright-Riley posted a second place finish in Limit Fences, while Simcha McGowan placed third in Novice Flat.
Goucher continues IHSA fall semester competition when it hosts its second show of the season on Saturday, November 11.
