Jacob Connell Earns Nationals Berth, Equestrian Fourth at Zone IV Championship

SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Senior Jacob Connell of the Goucher College equestrian team earned a bid to IHSA Nationals as the Gophers competed at the Zone IV Championships on Saturday hosted by Sweet Briar College.  Goucher finished fourth as a team.

Connell finished as the Zone champion in Limit Fences and will compete at nationals, slated for May 2-5 at Tryon International in Mill Spring, North Carolina. Connell also finished second in Team Intermediate Flat.

Kellen Sullivan finished fourth in the Zone Cacchione Cup competition.  He placed third in Open Individual Flat, fourth in Open Individual Fences, third in Open Team Flat and fourth in Open Team Fences.

Hayley Anderson picked up a second place finish in Team Intermediate Fences, with Cordelia Edwards taking second in Team Limit Flat.  

Kristen Wilhelm placed fourth in Team Novice Flat, while Lily L'Oiseau was fifth in Team Intro.  Christina Mlynarski was fifth in Team Limit Fences.
