Opening Tip

• Goucher heads down to Roanoke, Virginia to participate in the Dick Leftwich Tip-off Tournament
• The Gophers will face host Roanoke on Friday, who is led by Goucher alum Clay Nunley and he was a freshman on the 1994-95 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament championship team that defeated defending national champion Lebanon Valley in the open round of the NCAA Division III Tournament for the college's first-ever NCAA Tournament win
• It is the 16th meeting against the Maroons and the second time Nunley will face his alma mater as the head coach of Roanoke
• Goucher will face either Johnson & Wales or York (Pa.) in either the consolation or championship game on Saturday
• It would be the first meeting against Johnson & Wales if the two teams would play each other
• The Gophers would renew an old CAC rival if they meet York, who holds a 21-19 edge in the all-time series but would be the first meeting since 2006-07
• Goucher could play two games at the Dick Leftwich Tip-off Tournament that connect with the 25th Annivesary team after facing Nunley on Friday and the possible York, the team the Gophers beat in the 1994-95 CAC Championship Game in York on Saturday

• Roanoke comes into the tournament 0-1 after falling 70-67 to Methodist on Sunday
• Efosa Edosomwan paced the Maroons with 17 points while Dillon Thomas (15 points) and Caleb Jordan (12 points) also found double figures in the loss.
• Roanoke finished the 2018-19 season 19-8 overall and 11-5 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference last year
• Johnson & Wales will be playing its season opener on Friday against York (Pa.)
• The Wildcats finished last season 13-13 overall and 8-3 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference
• Brian Hogan-Gary paced Johnson & Wales with 23.6 points and 11.5 rebounds per game
• York defeated Dickinson 90-63 in its season opener on Tuesday
• Jared Wagner powered the Spartans with 18 points while David Giulani (12 points) also reached double figures
• York finished 22-8 overall and 12-2 in the CAC while advancing to the NCAA Tournament
• Goucher and York are separated by 41 miles, but if they would meet Goucher will have traveled 279 miles for the first meeting since the Gophers left the CAC

• Elliott Wiley posted 20 points off the bench while Gabe Ceribelli (12 points) also had a double-figure performance for the Gophers
• Josh Freund paced the Marroons with 16 points while Caleb Jordan (12 points), Colton Reed (11 points) and C.J Miles (10 points) each had 10+ points in the contest
• York defeated Goucher 91-78 in York on January 25, 2007
• Pierre Jones posted 24 points and 10 rebounds while James Russo registered 22 points for Goucher
• Chad McGowan led five Spartans in double figures with 19 points

Last Time Out

• Goucher fell to Johns Hopkins on Tuesday in the squad's home opener
• Dwayne Morton paced the Gophers with eight points and five rebounds while Josh Lichti added six points and seven rebounds

In The Gopher Hole

• Mal Graham and Axel Seka made their collegiate debut against Johns Hopkins
• After having five players in double figures in the season opener, the Gophers did not have a 10-point scorer against Johns Hopkins
• Josh Lichti is averaging 8.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game this season and has grabbed at least five rebounds in his first two tilts

• This season marks the 25th Anniversary of the 1994-95 team that won the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament title and defeated the defending NCAA Division III National Champion Lebanon Valley for the college's first-ever NCAA Tournament win

• David Clark, who is the program's all-time leading scorer and was a member of both the 1993-94 and 1994-95 teams, will serve as the guest coach for the game against Salisbury in November 23
