Gonzalez And Goucher Men's Golf Sit Two Strokes Behind Leaders After One Round At McDaniel Spring Invitational
ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Julian Gonzalez (Heredia, Costa Rica/Berkley Academy) and the Goucher men's golf team sit two strokes out of first place after the first round of the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday.
Gonzalez shot a first-round score of two-over 74 to sit in third place, two strokes behind the leader that shot an even par round. The Gophers shot a 306 in the first round to sit one stroke behind Gettysburg (305) and two strokes behind the current leader Lynchburg (304). Only three shots separate the Top-4 teams and seven shots between the Top-5.
Roberto Mikse (Fort Worth, Texas/Jim McClean Junior Academy) and Evan Yue (Beijing, China/IMG Academy) are also not far off the pace, sitting tied for eighth place with a four-over round score of 76. Nicholas Fisher (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) (29th place, 80) and Joe Burns (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) (54th place, 83) round out the Gophers five competitors.
Goucher will conclude the McDaniel Spring Invitational with tee times starting at 12:30 p.m. on the 10th tee.
