The Gophers (6-2) began the meet by winning the 400-yard medley relay where the entry of Colin Richter (Cleburne, Texas/Cleburne), Brian Cha (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lakeridge), Morgan Richter (Cleburne, Texas/Cleburne) and Sam Davis (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) was clocked at 3:42.44.
They went on to take first place in six of the 12 individual events.
Colin Richter accounted for three of those first-place performances as he touched first in both backstrokes and the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.82). His winning times: 55.52 seconds in the 100 back and 2:04.91 in the 200 back.
Davis posted the fastest times in the 50 free (:21.98) and 100 free (:49.41).
Morgan Richter completed the 200 free in 1:49.05, good for first place.
But Jerel McCord (Fort Wayne, Ind./South Side) was the only Goucher swimmer able to place second in an event. He was the runner-up in the 200 butterfly (2:07.33).
The Cardinals (4-2) didn't accept any points in the 400 free relay, which left first place to Goucher's entry of Cha, Dalton Delp (Summerville, S.C./Ashley Ridge), McCord and Davis, which was clocked at 3:24.64.
The Gophers will compete next weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Richmond, Va.
