Gophers Are Edged on Senior Day
Seniors Benjamin Shriner and Joseph Hughes both took home third place in individual events in a 109-71 loss at the von Borries Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon during Senior Day.

TOWSON, MD—Seniors Benjamin Shriner and Joseph Hughes both took home third place in individual events in a 109-71 loss at the von Borries Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon during Senior Day.
In the loss against Drew University, Hughes placed third in the 500 free with a time of 5:45.41. Shriner took home third place in the 200 free (1:56.71) and aided the Gophers (2-8, Landmark 0-5) 200 medley relay to second place with a time of 1:48.10.
Goucher's Top Performers:
- Sophomore Blake Rhodes placed first in the 50 free with a time of 22.82 and grabbed third place in the 100 fly (57.32).
- Freshman Michael Merworth edged out the competition in the 100 back (55.84 –personal best) and finished second in the 500 free (5:32.04).
- Junior Jerel McCord chipped in for the Gophers, taking second in the 100 fly with a time of 56.62.
- The 200 medley relay of Merworth, Shriner, McCord and junior Duncan Miller opened the meet with a silver, putting up time of 1:48.10.
