Gophers Open Up With Win Over Mustangs in Quad Meet
Goucher’s men’s swim team opened its 2017-18 season today with one win and two losses in a quad meet held at McDonogh School. Goucher beat Stevenson University by a score of 131-20. The Gophers fell to the Bobcats of Frostburg State University 146-86 and were nipped by Hood College, 97-88.

BALTIMORE, Md.- Goucher's men's swim team opened its 2017-18 season today with one win and two losses in a quad meet held at McDonogh School. Goucher beat Stevenson University by a score of 131-20. The Gophers fell to the Bobcats of Frostburg State University 146-86 and were nipped by Hood College, 97-88.
· Scoring second place points for the Gopher men in the 1000 Free was senior Ian Furst with a time of 11:16.06
· Senior Jerel McCord swam well enough to take 3rd in the men's 200 Free with a time of 1:59.31.
· Jacy MacConvery swam the men's 200 IM in 2:18.85 to grab the 3rd place for the Gophers.
· Claiming the Gophers first individual win was Senior Jerel McCord in the men's 100 Fly clocking:55.30
· Ian Furst continued to swim strong for the Gophers with a 3rd place in the men's 500 free in 5:36.86
· Finishing with a strong 2nd place for the men in the 200 free relay was first-year Andrew Ackerman, and seniors Luke Hall, Duncan Miller and Andrew Rowland (SR) in a time of 1:48.03
