The Goucher College men's and women's swimming teams are set for the 2018 Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, which will kick-off at the Germantown Swim Center in Germantown, Md. on Friday morning.
The Championships will begin at 10 a.m. each day with preliminary action, with ticket sales beginning at 8 a.m., and doors opening at 9 a.m. at the Germantown Swim Center each day. Event finals and relays will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
On the weekend, Goucher's women's team will look to improve from a sixth-place finish, a mark the Gophers have hit in each of the last two Landmark Conference Championships.
Goucher, who captured four dual meets throughout the course of the season, will be led into the Championships by freestyle swimmers first-year Alexis Liszewski (St. Louis, Mo.) and senior Alexis Regopoulos (Fitchburg, Mass.). Liszewski, a short-distance swimmer, is seeded eighth going into the Championships in the 50-freestyle, while Regopolous has the highest seed of any Goucher swimmer entering the Championships in an event, as she is fourth in the 1650-freestyle.
The men's team, who won three dual matches on the year, will look to improve upon last seasons seventh-place finish at the Championships.
