Goucher Swimming Dominates Gallaudet at Saturday Meet
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Goucher swimming teams traveled to Gallaudet on Saturday for a non-conference competition where both men’s and women’s won by a significant margin.

In the first event, the Women's 200 yard Medley Relay, the team of Kathryn Shannon (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Jasmine Clare (Cape Coral, Fla.), Jamie Damm (Middletown, Md.), and Ila Jackson (Columbia, Md.) placed first out of four teams with a time of 2:08.22.
Shannon and Damm also walked away with first place finishes in the 50 Yard Breaststroke (32.23) and 100 Yard Freestyle (1:02.50) respectively. Hallie Stewart (Chesapeake, Va.) had several impressive events as well. Stewart placed first in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:13.05) and the 50 Yard Butterfly (31.58).
The men's team also turned in many first place finishes. Connor Lawrence (North Potomac, Md.) placed first out of three in the 50 Yard Backstroke with a time of 36.00 seconds, almost a full second ahead of either of his competitors. Marcus Montisano was first out of four in the 50 Yard Breaststroke, finishing in just 31.07 seconds. Jackson Penner (Newille, Pa.) and Eli Gang (Highland Park, N.J.) also placed first out of four swimmers in the 50 Yard Freestyle (23.68) and 100 Yard Freestyle (57.22) respectively.
The Gophers will compete next at home on January 16th against Marywood at 1 PM.
