Captain MacConvery and Stewart lead Goucher Swim against Salisbury
Baltimore, Md. – For the second Saturday in a row, the Goucher Swim and Dive team welcomed an opponent to von Berries Pool. The second of three home meets was against Salisbury University. The Goucher women were led by four swimmers that placed top three in two events each. Jacy MacConvery (Liburn, Ga./Parkview) paced the way for the men in the nonconference match-up.
Not only did MacConvery win the 200 fly with a season best time of 2:07.31, but he also placed third in the 200 breast (2:36.00). Fellow gopher, Ryan Freeburg (Middletown, Del./Middletown), was second in the same event, but with a time of 2:25.60. Freeburg garnered another second-place spot in the 50 breast. As mentioned above, the Gopher women swim team had a quite few athletes with top-three places. Hallie Stewart (Chesapeake, Va./Indian River) was second in the 1000 free (12:26.44) and third in the 200 fly (2:50.56). Kelci Wood (Spencer, Ind./Owen Valley) and Jaime Damm (Middletown, Md./Middletown) finished second and third in the 50 back. Wood's time of 31.62 was a personal best, while Damm swam in 32.31.
