Senior Spotlight: Swimming
We move onto our team Senior Spotlights for the programs that were able to have a Senior Day during 2019-20. We would like to thank seven Goucher swimmers for their hard work and dedication to Goucher College and the swimming program for the last four years.
2019-20 Goucher College Swimming Senior Class
Our first senior hails from Erie, Colorado and participated predominately in the freestyle. She established personal-best times in the 500 freestyle and the 100 freestyle at her first Landmark Conference Championships in 2017 and posted her top time in the 200 freestyle at the 2018 conference championships. Our next senior comes from North Yarmouth, Maine and swam mainly with the freestyle stroke. She made her mark at the first Landmark Conference Championships posting her best times in the 50 freestyle, the 100 freestyle and the 200 free style in 2017. She then notched her season-best time in each race at the conference championships in her final three campaigns. Next we have a senior from Millersville, Maryland, who competed in the freestyle for two years after transferring from Anne Arundel Community College. He notched a personal-best time at the 2019 Landmark Conference Championships in the 200 freestyle and then established his top times in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 500 freestyle at the conference championships in his senior year. Next we have a Meriden, Connecticut native who competed in the freestyle and the backstroke in her career in Baltimore. She established her career-best times in the 100 freestyle and the 500 freestyle at the 2018 Landmark Conference Championships while she established her top time in the 50 backstroke in a meet against Frostburg in 2018. She is majoring in visual material culture and is the daughter of Stephine and Mark. Ladies and gentlemen, Sara Jordan. JORDAN FULL BIO
Next we have senior from Mill Valley, California, who mainly swam the freestyle in her career. She posted personal-best times in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and the 100 backstroke at the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships and then reestablished those marks in each event during the 2018 conference championships. She is majoring in peace studies and is the daughter of Valerie and Kent. Ladies and gentlemen, Megan Lindsay. LINDSAY FULL BIO
Next we have a senior from Lilburn, Georgia, who competed in the freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and the intermediate medley. He competed in four Landmark Conference finals, finishing a career-best sixth in the 200 butterfly in his first championships in 2017. He placed eighth in the 400 IM and the 200 butterfly at the 2018 conference meet and wrapped up his career with an eighth-place standing in the 2020 Landmark Conference Championships in the 200 butterfly. Next we have a senior from Wilbraham, Massachusetts, who participated in the backstroke and the freestyle for the last two campaigns for the Gophers. She registered personal-best times in the 50 freestyle, the 100 freestyle, the 50 backstroke and the 100 backstroke at the 2019 Landmark Conference Championships. She bested the times in the backstroke at two different meets in the fall of 2019.
