Gophers Close Out Fall at Marymount
ARLINGTON, Va. - The Goucher College men's and women's swimming teams were swept in a dual meet at Marymount (Va.) University Saturday at the Lee Center Pool. The women fell 142-47, while the men were defeated by a score of 147-20.
Junior Ella Robinson had a pair of second place finishes for the Gopher women. In the 1000 freestyle she placed second with a time of 12:31.10, while Robinson took the runner-up spot in the 200 breaststroke at 2:42.89.
Darcy McFarland came in second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:19.86. Olivia Reichardt took second in the 50 free, clocking in at 27.55 seconds. Avery McEachern swam a time of 6:19.70 in the 500 free to come in third overall.
The women's 400 freestyle relay consisting of Reichardt, Madison Veld, Alana Moore and Kan Jarvis swam a 4:23.24 to take second overall.
The men's 400 medley relay of Ben Graff, Noah Moudarres, James Piland and Christian Houck swam a time of 4:56.84 to take third. Piland placed fourth in the 50 free with a time of 24.94 seconds.
Graff finished fourth in the 100 IM, checking in at 1:03.49.
Goucher returns to action Saturday, January 13, hosting Susquehanna and Moravian in a 1 pm tri-meet at the von Borries Aquatic Center.
