Record Breaking Weekend
Towson, Md. - Multiple school records were broken this weekend with the track team traveling to multiple meets. At the York College Twilight freshman Aryanna Paulena surpassed her own pole vault record. Her vault of 3.60m meters surpassed her old record of 3.35 meters. In the women's 200 meter dash Nancy Nyadongo beat her own school record. At the Hopkins/Loyola Invite she ran a time of 24.60 beating her previous 25.13. This new time put her 17th in the nation for divisiona three and scored her the new Landmark Conference record. Lastly, Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw broke her own school record in the women's 1500 meter. Her new time of 4:29.99 surpassed her old record of 4:36.19. This new record also puts her in as number 10 in the nation for division three. Sam Dylan broke the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:16.33 at the Soach Pollard Invitational. This beats the former time of 10:16.61 set in 2012. The women's 4 by 800 meter relay was successful in breaking the former school record time of 10:11.24. The team of Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw, Terrica Thornton-Fillyaw, Tamryn Thornton-Fillyaw, and Imaya Edmonds hold the new record with a time of 10:02.62.
