SCRANTON, PA – The Goucher College women's basketball team fell to the Scranton Royals, 82-52 on the road Saturday afternoon in their season finale.
Senior Jaida Scarborough led the Gophers with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists – passing her career-high in points during her final showing in the blue and gold. Junior Briana Bull scored 16 points and collected eight rebounds for Goucher.
Senior Alexix Roman paced the Royals during her senior day with 23 points and three rebounds. Sarah Payonk led the team with 16 rebounds.
How It Happened:
- The Gophers fell behind early and the Royals posted a 27-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- At the intermission, Goucher was behind 47-13 on 16% (5-of-30) shooting.
- Goucher came out in the third quarter and posted 14 points, but the Royals were not willing to give up their advantage and pulled further ahead, 68-27.
- The Gophers commanded the fourth quarter, outscoring Scranton 25-14, but it was to no avail. Goucher fell 82-52.
- The Gophers shot 20-of-59 (33.9%) from the field over the course of the game compared to Scranton's 53.1% (34-of-64) shooting. Eleven different Royals scored during the game.

The Gophers end the season with a 4-20 record overall and an 0-14 record in Landmark Conference play.
