WESTMINSTER, Md. - In a Thursday night non-conference contest, Goucher was defeated by McDaniel by 14 points, falling to 5-7 on the season.
Despite the loss, Goucher managed to hang relatively close to McDaniel, especially during the first half, and never allowed the Green Terror's lead to surpass 18 points.
Freshman Alayna McFadden (Silver Spring, Md.) once again led the Gophers in points with 20, sinking 4-7 beyond the arc plus an additional four baskets. Trailing McFadden by eight points was senior Nicole Wolard (Tampa, Fla.), who put up 12 points and had 9 rebounds.
Although freshman Anise Williams (West Palm Beach, Fla.) scored a quiet 9 points in the matchup, she led the team in assists (3), steals (7), and rebounds (10).
The Gophers will be back in action on Saturday, January 5 as they take on the Susquehanna River Hawks in a conference contest at 2 PM.
