TOWSON, Md. - In a Saturday afternoon Landmark Conference matchup, the Gophers hosted the Susquehanna River Hawks. After forty minutes of play, the Gophers fell to 0-2 in conference play in a 27 point loss.
After junior Kerry Chun (Honolulu, Hawaii) put up the first two points of the game and the River Hawks answered with two of their own, the Gophers were unable to regain the lead.
Freshman Anise Williams (West Palm Beach, Fla.) put up 20 points for Goucher, going 3-5 from beyond the arc. Senior Nicole Wolard (Fla.) led the team in almost every other category on the day. Wolard scored 13 points, had the only blocks on the team (2), tallied two assists, and racked up 9 rebounds.
While Alayna McFadden (Silver Spring, Md.) was heavily guarded throughout, she managed to break away and put up 9 points. Kerry Chun was the team leader in assists with 3.
