Gophers Late Push Secures Victory Over Juniata

TOWSON, Md.- The Goucher College Gophers (10-3 overall, 3-3 Landmark) took on the Eagles of Juniata College (6-7overall, 3-3 Landmark) in a Landmark Conferenece matchup. The Gophers secured a tight win of 103-99, which resulted in the Gophers eighth season win in triple digits.
- The Gophers scored first, with Amira Whitaker scoring following an offensive rebound just eight seconds in the game.
- Goucher and Juniata traded points, with the Eagles taking an early lead of 12-6 with 6:10 remaining in the game.
- Darby Sherman pushes the Gophers ahead 18-17 with a layup with (3:25) left on the clock.
- Nia George extended the Gophers lead with a 3-point shot with under three minutes left in the quarter.
- Goucher ended the quarter with a two point lead after a made shot by Lauryn Towns in the final seconds.
- The Eagles scored the first seven points of the quarter, to push them ahead 32-27 just under a minute into the quarter.
- Meona Boykin and Towns rally back to decrease the Eagles lead to three.
- Goucher responded to Juniata's six point run with made baskets by Whitaker and Towns.

- The Eagles outrebounded the Gophers 49-38, and forced 19 turnovers, while the Gophers forced 31.
- Goucher shot 44.8% overall, and went 8-17 beyond the arc, while shooting 60.7% from the free throw line.
- Juniata shot 54.7% in the game, shooting 6-14 on three-point attempts, and 67.6% from the charity stripe.
- The Gophers travel to Eizabethtown to the face the Blue Jays. The game will be at 7pm on Wednesday, January 15th.
