Kayla Yost enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Goucher women's basketball program in 2018-19.

Yost joins the Goucher program after finishing her athletic career at Hiram College in Ohio, where she earned a bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in biomedical humanities this past May.

At Hiram, Yost earned three letters in women's basketball, playing through her junior year before missing her entire senior season with an injury. In 2016-17, Yost made 24 starts for the Terriers, where she finished the season ranked third in the NCAC in total rebounds per game (7.0), while averaging 9.7 points per game.

In 2014-15 as a true sophomore, Yost went on to earn All-NCAC Honorable Mention accolades after averaging 13.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per contest. She ended the season second in the NCAC in rebounding average at the end of the year, as she finished the year with 20 double-digit scoring performances and nine double-doubles.

Yost, who served as team captain at Hiram, was also involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory (SAAC) Committee at the school, while also serving as a Career Counseling intern in the Hiram Career and Academic Development for two years.

Yost, a native of Norwalk, Ohio who prepped at Perkins High School, will pursue a graduate degree at Goucher in education.
