Getting to Know You…
- Where's the next place on your travel bucket list and why?
Everywhere. I have a map bulletin board in my room and I add a push-pin every time I visit a new place. My dream is to run out of space. My less lame answer is that I want to go to Argentina because I want to get an internship there where I can practice Spanish. - What was the last show you binge-watched?
I just finished the third season of Élite on Netflix - Do you have a favorite holiday? Why or why not?
I've always loved Christmas because it's the holiday my family has the most traditions for. My family is all grown up and living in all different places so Christmas is our time to get back together. - What song always gets you on the dance floor?
Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. - Do you hit the snooze button or wake up immediately?
Ask my roommate how many times she had to throw her pillow at me after my third alarm didn't wake me up this semester… - When making a PB&J sandwich, do you put on the peanut butter of jelly first?
Peanut butter. I didn't know anyone would dare to do it another way - If you could own a mythical creature (unicorn, phoenix, etc.), which one would you pick?
Unicorns. If you say you think unicorns are lame you're lying. - What can you eat for a week straight?
Mac and cheese - Favorite superhero/heroine and why?
I was never into superheros but I watched the most recent Spiderman movie… So… Spiderman? - Does pineapple belong on pizza?
Yes it sure does
WhyD3 Questions…
Why did you decide to attend (school)?
I knew wanted to go to a small liberal arts school, but I was drawn to Goucher specifically because of the small class size, amazing community, and study abroad graduation requirement. I also felt an immediate connection to the Goucher volleyball program and wanted to be a part of the huge goals that this team has.
What makes being a Division III student-athlete special?
Being a D3 athlete is such a privilege. It's an amazing environment to be a part of because everyone has such a love for both their sport and their studies. I love watching people work so hard to chase multiple passions at once—that's really inspiring. It's also really rewarding to see the hard work pay off, even if we don't get the recognition of some bigger and more famous athletes, this journey is incredibly fulfilling.
What is the best advice you can give another athlete?
Don't give up when things get tough or it feels like things are falling apart. They might not really falling apart, they're just laying the foundation for something really awesome to come. Also, remember that you're not alone in this. We've all been through our fair share of challenges on this road. Reach out to a friend—whether its to give or ask for support, D3 is a family and we are here for each other.
This or That…
1. Morning, noon, or night? Night
2. Burgers or tacos? Burgers
3. Pool or ocean? Ocean
4. Marvel or DC? Marvel (I'm not into either but my friends talk about Marvel all the time)
5. Star Wars or Star Trek? Star Wars
