Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw Finishes Second at Landmark Championship
LEBANON, Pa. - Goucher College women's cross country junior Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw placed second at the 2024 Landmark Conference Women's Cross Country Championship held Saturday at Union Canal Tunnel Park, turning in a 6K time of 22:01.49. It marks the highest-ever finish by a Gopher women's cross country runner at the Landmark Championship, with Kelsey Myette coming in second in 2010.
As a team, the Goucher women placed seventh out of 10 teams, their highest finish since 2017.
Thornton-Fillyaw was fifth at the .75 mile split, running that distance in 4:13.15. At the two mile split she moved up to third at a time of 12:04.04. Catholic's Kate Inglis pulled away to finish first with a time of 21:56.48, with Thornton-Fillyaw posting the second-fastest time in the final split.
Terrica Thornton-Fillyaw placed 62nd in the field of 105 with a time of 25:58.77. Imaya Edmonds posted a time of 27:06.29, with Daya Sathyaraj checking in with a 27:13.63 effort. Reese Finnigan ran a time of 27:19.91.
Goucher is scheduled to compete on Saturday, November 16 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
