PHILADELPHIA, Pa. Seventeen players and two coaches in Goucher's men's soccer program took part in the Blue Cross Broad Street Run today to raise funds for cardiac research.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. Three players from Goucher are listed as honorable mentions on the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas College Men Scholar All-East Region Team that was released today by the NSCAA, the largest coaches' organization in the United States.

TOWSON, Md. Three goalkeepers one for Goucher and two for Juniata made a combined total of 18 saves on the 31 shots they faced today. More importantly, not one of them allowed a shot to get past them as the Gophers and Eagles played to a 0-0 tie through a pair of overtime periods in the final game of the season for both teams.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Goucher's Evan Rosse (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) accomplished the rare feat of scoring a goal and making a save in the same game today, a 5-1 Landmark Conference loss to Catholic.

KINGS POINT, N.Y. Goucher made it out of the first half today locked in a 1-1 tie with the highest-scoring team in the Landmark Conference. But in the second period, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy capitalized on an 11-1 advantage in shots to record a 2-1 victory over the Gophers.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. Goucher allowed an opponent to score more than two goals today for only the second time this season and, just like the first time, it proved fatal. The Gophers trailed Susquehanna just 1-0 at the end of the first half, but the Crusaders stuck two more in during the second period to come away with a 3-1 Landmark Conference victory.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. With the score deadlocked at 1-1 and less than 15:00 showing on the clock today, the chances of Goucher and its opponent being tied at the end of regulation for a third consecutive game were getting stronger with each passing minute. But Julien Greco (Shutesbury, Mass./St. George's School) was bound and determined to make sure the Gophers finished off Delaware Valley without needing overtime.

MADISON, N.J. The Landmark Conference today named Justin Holbrook (Claymont, Del./Wilmington Friends School), a junior goalkeeper on Goucher's men's soccer team, as the Defensive Player of the Week for his sport for Sept. 22-28.

TOWSON, Md. Goucher and Salisbury have squared off against one another at least once every year since 1993 but the Gophers really had very little to show for their efforts. Sixteen times the two teams met over a 15-year period and the Sea Gulls prevailed each and every time.
