Gophers Compete in Day One of Landmark Championships
BALTIMORE - The Goucher College men and women's swimming teams opened competition at the 2024 Landmark Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday evening at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola University Maryland. After a pair of relays, the Gopher women sit sixth with 48 points, while the men have 24 points and are seventh.
The women's 200 medley relay placed sixth with a time of 2:01.31. The relay consisted of senior Darcy McFarland, junior Ella Robinson and sophomores Kan Jarvis and Alana Moore.
Goucher placed eighth in the women's 800 freestyle relay, clocking in at 10:27.48. Juniors Emma Kistner and Emily Strickland, senior Emily Roat and Moore made up that relay squad.
The men's 200 medley relay placed seventh with a 2:17.27 mark. Sophomore Ben Graff, junior Noah Moudarres, first year Quincy Barnes and senior Jack Buckley swam for the Gophers.
Day two of the Landmark Championships begins at 10 am Friday with preliminaries, with finals beginning at 6 pm.
