Ella Robinson Set to Compete at ECAC Open Championship
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's swimming junior Ella Robinson is set to compete at the ECAC Open Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Lejeune Hall on the campus of the U.S. Naval Academy. A total of 28 schools across Divisions I, II and III will be in competition.
Robinson will compete in the 100 yard breaststroke on Saturday and the 200 yard breaststroke on Sunday. Saturday's preliminary rounds are set for 10 am, while the finals are set for 6 pm. On Sunday, the preliminaries are scheduled for 9 am, with finals at 4 pm.
At the Landmark Conference Championships, Robinson reached the A final in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. In the 100, she placed fourth in the final and broke a 32-year old school record with a time of 1:08.27. Robinson placed eighth in the 200 B final and swam a prelim time of 2:31.42, which ranks second in program history.
Robinson is the first Goucher swimmer, male or female, to compete at the ECAC Open Championship.
