MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference today announced the names of the 32 student-athletes who make up the 2011 Winter Landmark All-Academic Team, which recognizes two male and two female athletes who have excelled athletically and academically from each of the eight Landmark institutions.

MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference, which is in its fourth year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 202 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the 2011 Winter Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Fourteen of the honorees are from Goucher.

KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Second-place performances by Kyle Williams (Andover, N.J./Newton) in the 500-yard freestyle and Georgi Shalamanov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/St. St. Kiril & Metodi) in the 100-yard breaststroke helped Goucher earn 202 points to finish in fifth place at the 2011 Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, which concluded today.

TOWSON, Md. — Kyle Williams (Andover, N.J./Newton) placed first in the 100-yard backstroke and Georgi Shalamanov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/St. St. Kiril & Metodi) was runner-up in three individual events today as Goucher came away from a Landmark Conference triangular meet with a split.

YORK, Pa. — Goucher's Georgi Shalamanov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/St. St. Kiril & Metodi) set new facility records in two events today as the Gophers were competing against two Capital Athletic Conference teams.

TOWSON, Md. — Charlie Leonard (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) and Kyle Williams (Andover, N.J./Newton) both placed first for Goucher in a pair of contested individual events, helping the Gophers come out on top of Arcadia, 105-70, this afternoon.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Goucher's Kyle Williams (Andover, N.J./Newton), the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2010 Landmark Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, placed first in that event today in a meet against Scranton.

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. — Kyle Williams (Andover, N.J./Newton) and Georgi Shalamanov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/St. St. Kiril & Metodi) combined to finish first in four separate individual events for Goucher to help the Gophers come away from a tri-meet with both a win over Gallaudet and a loss to St. Mary's (Md.).

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Georgi Shalamanov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/St. St. Kiril & Metodi) placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke and swam the second leg on Goucher's victorious entry in the 400-yard medley relay in today's Landmark Conference meet against Catholic.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — The trio of Charlie Leonard (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville), Georgi Shalamanov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/St. St. Kiril & Metodi) and Kyle Williams (Andover, N.J./Newton) earned a combined total of 50 points for Goucher from individual events in today's season-opening meet against Susquehanna, the runner-up at the 2010 Landmark Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships.
