NEW ORLEANS, La. — Both of Goucher's track and field programs were recognized today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the academic accomplishments of the student-athletes in 2011-12.

Phillips Takes First in Long Jump, Second in Hurdle Events

TOWSON, Md. — The host school finished in fourth place today at the Goucher Track & Field Classic. In addition to scoring 73 points, the Gophers came away from the meet with new school records in the 100-meter hurdles, the 5,000-meter run, the long jump and the javelin.

Zidanic, Rain Surpass All-Time Bests in 3000 SC, Javelin

TOWSON, Md. — Nobody in the history of Goucher's women's outdoor track and field program had ever finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in under 12 minutes nor had anybody ever tossed the javelin farther than 99 feet — until today.

MADISON, N.J. — Goucher produced two of the 14 recipients of Player of the Week honors from the Landmark Conference that were announced today. Destiny Phillips (Washington, D.C./Dunbar), a freshman on the women's outdoor track and field team, and Pierce Ingram (Austin, Texas/Westwood), a sophomore midfielder on the men's lacrosse team, were recognized for their performances for March 19-25.
