TOWSON, Md. — Women’s tennis player Amanda Bercovici, who was recently named the Landmark Conference’s Player of the Year, and equestrian rider Joey Fink, who led Goucher to a sixth place result at the IHSA national championships, have been selected as the final Gophers of the Month for the 2013-14 school year.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — With just one class to go in the Collegiate Cup Hunter Seat competition at the 2014 IHSA National Horse Show, Goucher remained stuck on the two points earned by Anna Carmichael in novice fences to kick off the event.

SWEET BRIAR, Va. — Goucher sent a total of five riders to the 37th annual American National Riding Commission National Championships, hosted by Sweet Briar College over a three day period this weekend.

ROANOKE, Va. — The riding programs from the same two schools that represented Zone IV in the Collegiate Cup Hunter Seat at the IHSA National Horse Show in 2013 will do so again this year. But instead of going as the runner-up as it did last May, Goucher qualified for the 2014 event as the Zone IV champion.

POOLESVILLE, Md. — Goucher will have four individual riders competing at the IHSA Zone IV Championships on April 6 after Laura Malone (Weston, Mass./Weston) and Kaduk Sherpa (East Aurora, N.Y./The Park School) qualified with second-place performances today at the Zone IV Region I Championships conducted at Tulip Pond Farm.

TOWSON, Md. — With the region's 2013-14 team champion already determined and weather forecasters predicting showers to start off tomorrow and then a steady rain later in the day, a decision was made late this morning to cancel the final IHSA Zone IV Region I riding show of the season that Goucher was scheduled to host.

SPARKS, Md. — Goucher clinched the 2013-14 IHSA Zone IV Region I title by scoring 35 points at today's riding show conducted at Featherdown Farm, enough to give head coach Jen Bunty's squad an insurmountable lead in the region standings.

OATLAND, Md. — Goucher not only padded its lead atop the IHSA Zone IV Region I standings by placing first at today's show, it also produced the event's reserve high point rider.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Goucher finished in fourth place behind only Savannah Art & Design, Bridgewater and Virginia Tech at the Winter Classic Tournament of Champions, conducted today at Hazelwild Farm.

TOWSON, Md. — For the 28th-consecutive semester, a streak which has now lasted for well over a decade, Goucher’s men’s and women’s athletic programs have combined to register a grade-point average of over 3.0.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. — With all five of its riders earning at least one ribbon, Goucher earned 18 points and finished in a tie for 10th place today at the IHSA Holiday Tournament of Champions conducted at the USET Building.

TOWSON, Md. — Men’s swimmer Morgan Richter, who recently broke the school record in the 1,000-yard freestyle, and equestrian rider Ashley Bent, who picked up a pair of blue ribbons in the intermediate fences class, have been selected as Goucher’s Male and Female Gophers of the Month for November.
